I'm just back from a week of scuba diving in the red sea. Yesterday we found a school of 17 hammerhead sharks swiming around us. They are some really weird fish :) Two days earlier a big school of 30-40 dolphins followed our boat. For an hour they were playing and splashing water on us. It was a great trip, although it only lasted a week.
I've been skydiving and base jumping as usual this summer (and as always, never enough) but today I got myself a kite with board. I got it from Norkite and it looks awsome. I also got a training dvd, because I probably never will have time to take a course. Looking forward to trying it. It's going to be fun to have something to do when it's too windy for jumping.
I'm back from Lysebotn base jumping from Kjerag again. This was my first base jump this year and felt great. I did a two way with Jen and a big way memorial jump for Coombsey (the day one year later the accident).
Base jumping is fun! :)
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
-Mark Twain
I'm on my way to Egypt to celebrate dads 60th birthday tomorrow. My flight leaves in 5 hours and hopefully I'll be doing some diving with the sharks in just a few days. I'm back in a week and leaving again for Houston the day after. Busy easter :)
Merry xmas everyone
It's less than four weeks to xmas... I wonder if I'm able to buy any presents before the 23rd this year... I doub't it
I found this paragraph on Wikipedia
"Fishes" is the proper English plural form of "fish" that biologists use when speaking about two or more fish species, as in "There are over 25,000 fishes in the world" (meaning that there are over 25,000 fish species in the world). When speaking of two or more individual fish organisms, then the word "fish" is used, as in "There are several million fish of the species Gadus morhua" (meaning that G. morhua comprises several million individuals). To see both in action, consider the statement "There are twelve fish in this aquarium, representing five fishes" (meaning that the aquarium contains twelve individuals, some of the same species and some of different species, for a total of five species). The usage of the two words is similar to that of the words "people" and "peoples". The collective noun for fish is shoal (or school).
So for those of you who laughed at me for writing 'fishes' earlier (and by "those of you" I mean Jen :P) : I was completely right. Yay! :D
Pole dancing can be pretty fun to watch if it's done properly. But it can be even funner if not done properly :)
